[[袋小路屋敷]]に集まった[[13人のドワーフ>ソーリンとその仲間]]が歌った歌。
彼らは宵闇が部屋に忍び込む中で音楽を演奏し((彼らはめいめいに楽器を持ち寄っていた。[[フィーリ]]と[[キーリ]]は小さなバイオリン、[[ドーリ]]と[[ノーリ]]と[[オーリ]]は笛、[[ボンブール]]は太鼓、[[ビーフール]]と[[ボーフール]]はクラリネット、[[ドワリン]]と[[バリン]]は大きなヴィオラ、[[ソーリン二世]]は金のハープ。))、やがて完全に暗くなった頃に伴奏に合わせて歌を歌い出した。この歌には[[ドワーフ]]の美しい細工物に対する激しい愛着が込められており、歌を耳にした[[ビルボ・バギンズ]]は我知らず冒険心を目覚めさせられた。
